It was a good weekend for the pups. On Saturday, I hosted a party for a large group of friends in my running group. Fortunately, for all concerned, the weather was spectacular. Everybody was anxious to see the pups who didn't disappoint with their playful inquisitiveness! Maybe some of those visitors will take one of the pups, who are now five weeks old.
My hope is that the pups will be totally weaned by next weekend--six weeks old. They're now fed three times a day, and their food is become more and more solid. Not surprisingly, they're eating a lot more. I've included some unmoistened dry puppy food with their softened food, and they gobbled that down as well. So that's very good progress.
Deca seems content--or resigned--to let me provide their food and water. It looks like having six hungry pups mobbing you for food is a bit much for her.
What else? Early last week, I introduced a largish plastic ball into their play area. Orange was the first one to "play" with it, then Green. I'm sure that means something good!
