The Force Is With Her!

Today's dilemma...how to keep the pups confined in their space? The problem is that if I leave the gate to the Xpen open so that Deca can check on her pups, the pups climb over the gate frame and take off. "Green" and "Yellow" are the ones I find most often "out there." If I close the gate, then Deca breaks into the X-pen to check on things. I don't have a solution to this yet, other than to close the gate and to keep Deca away from the pen. That's not sustainable, since she has a very strong instinct to check on the pups and to clean up their pen! The "force" is strong within this Deca Haus Juris!


The pups, for their part, seem to love climbing out of the pen, and going for a tour of the basement. Very inquisitive, they. And incredibly cute. Some of them seemed to have learned that they can get mother's milk if they get out the pen, and catch up to mom. I haven't seen her nurse the gang together since the day before yesterday. The pups are being weaned! Off mother's milk and on to increasingly solid food.
